YouFibre, the ultrafast and ultra-affordable internet provider which offers market-leading service and reliability, has today announced it has gone live on the CityFibre full fibre network in Middlesbrough.
CityFibre, the UK’s largest independent carrier-neutral Full Fibre platform, is currently rolling out a full fibre network to reach up to 8m homes, 800k businesses, 400k public sector sites and 250k 5G access points nationwide. In 2021 CityFibre began its £42m investment in Middlesbrough to reach almost every premise in the area with its full fibre network which expected to reach completion by 2024.
Ryan Battle, Managing Director at YouFibre, commented: “Today marks an exciting milestone for YouFibre as we connect our first customer to our internet services via the CityFibre network. This new partnership will enable us to rapidly scale and grow our customer base in line with our ambition to offer our ultrafast, ultra-affordable services across the UK, initially in the North East following the strong uptake we have already seen in the area.
“Our flexible and agile business model allows us to connect onto any broadband network and provide vital internet services across the country, enabling reliable ultrafast speeds and online access for decades to come.”
The partnership with CityFibre will significantly enhance access to YouFibre’s internet services to tens of thousands of extra households by the end of 2023.
Steph Carter-Smith, CityFibre’s Area Manager for Middlesbrough, said: “We are very pleased to be welcoming ISP YouFibre to our network in Middlesbrough. This is fantastic news for residents as it means they will have further choice when upgrading their home connectivity to Full Fibre.
“It also provides further proof that our open-access model is helping to bring more competition to the market. This, in turn, is accelerating the rollout of faster and more reliable digital connectivity across the country, while helping to drive better service, value of money and overall experience for consumers.”
YouFibre partners with full fibre network operators to provide quality, affordable internet services with market leading speeds and fast installation. Full fibre runs on networks that use fibre-optic cables to deliver broadband direct to properties, providing faster, more reliable speeds and service than copper-based networks used by many broadband providers, providing a future-proofed network for decades to come.
YouFibre recently secured an additional £295 million in funding, along with sister company Netomnia, from Digital Bridge, one of the world’s largest digital infrastructure firms, taking total funding across the Group to nearly £420 million.
